Your role as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
Our interdisciplinary approach means that you will collaborate with other Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Mental Health Practitioners, Physical Therapists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and Neuropsychologists. As a member of our team, you will:
Collaborate closely with our occupational therapist to execute tailored therapy plans for our diverse clientele.
Perform comprehensive client assessments to gauge their needs and monitor progress.
Aid clients in daily activities aimed at boosting their independence and overall well-being.
Diligently document all client progress and any notable changes in their condition, ensuring precise and timely reports.
Foster effective communication with the therapy team and clients' families to guarantee coordinated and comprehensive care.
Stay abreast of the latest occupational therapy practices and advancements, continuously seeking to enhance the quality of our services.
Requirements
Hold an Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Certification and registration as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Possess current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Demonstrate 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting, with a preference for previous pediatric setting work.
Show a solid understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, with a proven ability to implement therapy plans efficiently.
Exhibit outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effective collaboration with both our therapy team and clients' families.
Display a genuine commitment to ongoing professional development, ensuring you remain informed about the cutting edge of occupational therapy practices.
Physical demands: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Required to sit, stand, bend, and walk regularly; lift and/or move up to 45lbs pounds; visual and auditory ability enough for written and verbal communication; the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
